What Do You Travel For?

With all of the inspiring reasons to adventure the world, have you found what you travel for?

Adventure: Isn’t this what people usually think of? Going on a new adventure. Transporting not only yourself physically, but mentally to a new place. Finding all of the significant landmarks you can explore, going off the beaten path and raising yourself to new heights. Giving your eyes the beauty of the world will never get old.

Culture: Throwing yourself into another world. You dive into a way of living that might be completely different then your home. Being able to learn how other people grew up and the stories they were told. To experience another culture is to fit another puzzle piece into this complicated world we live in. You will learn so much about your own culture by experiencing the way others live.

Relaxation: An escape away from home. Whether it’s a cabin in the middle of the woods or a hut on a secluded beach. Traveling can be a break from reality. It can make us forget our way too planned out lives and give us a few minutes to breathe. It’s a way to appreciate life in a way that allows us to let a moment sink in instead of rushing to the next place we’re supposed to be.

Thrill: The adrenaline coursing through your veins when you step on the plane or in the car for a long ride. The excitement you feel when you get to the top of a hike and you’re staring down at the hundreds of lives below you. The feeling you get when you hop on a gandala for the first time or a tuk-tuk through the city. The adrenaline is a huge reason fro traveling, it’s exciting in every right. Just as it should be.

Change: Change of pace, change of scenery. Just a change from the same old streets and town signs surrounding your normal day. To feel the need for change is something that many of travelers crave. There is this need to be somewhere new and trek ground your feet haven’t wandered over before. I get it. You can only see so many stunning pictures online before you want to be the one taking it.

Does one stick out to you? Maybe all of them made you shout “YES, that is IT”. Maybe you think it’s something else? (comment below).

Either way, this is what keeps the travelers traveling and the wanderers wandering.

Until tomorrow,

Anna Marie

Tough decision! To be quite honest, I’d go for the change. It’s great to see a new place when you are bored from where you are living at the moment. When you come back, you’ll always like the place you live at again 🙂

I have to agree with you! That is definitely one of the biggest reasons I travel. A change of scenery is really refreshing after walking the same road for a couple months. Thanks for sharing!
